Brandon has been an electrician for more than twenty years, working for contractors, in large plants, and as the electrician inside a factory. Redstar is the part where he finally works for himself.

Twenty years before the sign went up
Brandon spent two decades in the trade before Redstar existed. Contractors, big plants, and a stretch as the electrician keeping a factory running, which is the job where you learn to find a fault fast because everything downstream of you has stopped.
Owning the business was always the plan. Getting there meant building the hours and passing the tests, and those do not shorten for anybody.
Why he went out on his own
To be there. Brandon is family-first and wanted to set his own hours so he could actually make it to his kids and not hear about it afterwards.
That turns out to be the same reason the work gets done properly. When it is your name on it and your afternoon on the line, you do not leave a job half-finished and sort it out next week.
Where it is going
Three years out, Brandon wants to be at his kids’ events rather than driving back from one. That means the business has to carry itself without him in every truck, so the plan is roughly five trucks and ten people.
Right now it is Brandon and one other electrician, with another waiting on his license to get out on site, and his son working part-time.

A year on the work
Redstar warrants its work for a year. If something we installed is not doing what it should inside that, it gets put right.
It is a short sentence and it is the whole of it. There is no form to fill in.
Certification
A Native-owned business
TERO certification means Redstar is a Native-owned business, certified by the Cherokee Nation.
It is what allows Redstar to take tribal project work, including for Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, and it is renewed every year.
